SPORT TAEKWONDO COACHING ALTRINCHAM
Nathan Hall Performance offers Olympic-style sport taekwondo performance coaching delivered within a structured, development-focused environment. This programme is designed for children, teenagers, and young athletes who want to enhance their physical preparedness, technical and tactical skillset and mental resilience for competitive taekwondo.
My background in taekwondo spans over four decades, beginning in childhood and progressing through national and international competition, including representing Great Britain at World, European, and Commonwealth level as an athlete. As a professional I worked as a physiotherapist for the Great Britain, United States and Jamaican National Teams. I am also a work as a coach and advisor on physical preparation for the Jamaican National team.
Training focuses on physical, technical and tactical demands of modern sport taekwondo which include;
Strength & power development
Energy system development
Mobility & stability
Speed, agility and change of direction
Technical application
Tactical awareness
Mental resilience
Sessions are structured, purposeful, and scaled to the individual’s age, experience, and confidence level. The aim is not simply to teach techniques, but to develop capable, resilient athletes who move well and think clearly under stress.
Olympic-style refers to the technical ruleset and movement principles of sport taekwondo.
This is not a belt-driven system or a mass-class model. Coaching is selective, and progression is earned, and progress is based on skill acquisition, consistency, and personal growth. Nathan Hall Performance operates independently and is not affiliated with any governing body. Coaching is delivered independently, free from politics and bureaucracy, with a focus on personal development.
Sessions may be delivered one-to-one or in small groups, ensuring high-quality coaching, appropriate supervision, and individual attention at all times. For those who wish to compete, training develops transferable skills that support performance under recognised sport taekwondo rulesets, while remaining grounded in safe, structured progression.
At Nathan Hall Performance, sport taekwondo coaching is not about volume, rank, or shortcuts. It’s about building strong foundations, disciplined habits, and confident movement that serve young athletes both in sport and in life.
